While concerned citizens were using technology to report damage, reach out for help and mobilize relief operations to help Typhoon Ondoy victims, a Facebook status update, allegedly posted by Dubai-based Filipina, Jacque Bermejo, has prompted the anger of fellow Filipinos. The status update reads: "Buti na lang am here in Dubai! Maybe so many sinners back there! So yeah deserving what happened!"
Facebook groups have been created on the web after her update, including "Jacque Bermejo Persona Non Grata" and "Jacque Bermejo be gone, we 'sinners' don't want you here!!!" At last count, more than 3,000 comments have been made about her status update.
And over 10,000 comments in her Multiply site.

...You can label us Filipos a lot of things, but when push comes to shove ang hit with this terrible calamity, we band together as shown with the outpouring donations and our "bayanihan spirit". ..It's unfortunate that someone who would consider herself lucky would still have the time to look down on all our country men who have suffered from this ordeal.
