VIDEOS: Ruffa-Kris verbal exchanges on The Buzz: Playful banter or otherwise?

Published: 16th of March, 2010

In the latest development of the alleged pambabara hullabaloo between Kris Aquino and Ruffa Gutierrez, Aquino cried on The Buzz on March 14, when Gutierrez was a no-show for her supposedly last episode, mostly for the showbiz issue crossing over to political mudslinging, affecting her only brother Noynoy Aquino's campaign for presidency.

All the waterworks and drama started with Aquino's comment ("Ruffa, aminin mo, ibang level ang saya dito") on the March 7 episode of The Buzz, which she claimed was said "with affection." Gutierrez' mother, Annabelle Rama claimed the opposite, saying that Aquino always embarrassed and interrupted Gutierrez on the show, reports Inquirer.net.

Apologies have been made by both parties and it seems like all's well on both fronts. Just for old times' sake, SPOT.ph backtracked a little and found some Youtube videos where Aquino and Gutierrez exchange words in their trademark high-pitched decibels on The Buzz. Playful banter or otherwise? You be the judge.

Time stamp: 03:59 to 04:18
Ruffa: Teka lang, wala akong opinion. Hello, mag-co-commercial break na, can I give my opinion?
Kris: Thank you, Friday's, Italianni's and Fish & Co. 'Di ba they gave us a lot of things?
Boy: Anton and Ronnie Henares, maraming salamat. Go ahead, go ahead (gestures to Ruffa).
Ruffa: Alam mo, hindi na lang ako mag-o-opinion.
Boy: We will listen to your opinion.
Ruffa: No, ano na lang, change is good. It's good to be paired with other partners.

Time stamp: 04:02 to 04:52
Kris: Ngayon, I can be super honest. Na-encourage akong pumayat at kinarir ko ang pag-ma-Marie France dahil naturally slim ka (Ruffa).
Ruffa: At least 'di ba, I helped you. Yey!
Kris: Yeah! Sinabi ko sa sarili ko, kung every Sunday tatabi ako kay Ruffa tapos magmumukhang tiyahin niya, 'wag naman.
Ruffa: Sobra ka naman!
Kris: No, I'm just being honest! That's why because of you and because of Buzz, I honestly, eto po ha, 10 pounds ang na-lose ko.
Ruffa: In fairness naman sa'yo Kris, I'm always on my toes if you're there kasi magaling ka tsaka minsan nilalaglag mo 'ko.
Kris: Oy, kakasabi mo lang the other time I can keep secrets na.
Ruffa: Actually, in fairness.
Kris: O bawiin mo 'yung sinabi mong nilalaglag kita.
Ruffa: O sige, 'di mo 'ko nilalaglag. Before, before.

Time stamp: 05:37 to 05:53
Kris: Ikaw, ayaw mo magpaputi kasi katabi mo ako?
Ruffa: No, I like being dark.
Kris: No, you like MET so you like fair skin.
Ruffa: Okay, fine.
Kris: Okay!

Just before the segment ends, Kris adds: You don't like being dark.

Time stamp: 00:00 to 00:39
Ruffa: In any relationship, you either accept the guy or accept the person with all his nuisances and everything o kaya iwanan mo na lang.
Kris: I'll argue lang with Ruffa shortly. You'll also change. Ako ha--
Ruffa: Not all people change.
Kris: Hindi… Quiet na ako.
Ruffa: How come Yilmaz didn't change?
Kris: No, I'm just saying. Ako, I'm trying to adjust. I'm trying my best and I see my husband is also trying to adjust. I'm trying to be a little more quiet. Trying 'di ba?

In fairnez, poise na poise si Ruffa ha. Walang imik lang. Kris is really scary mambara ha.

moz

its kris fault masaydo nyang dina down ung mga kasama niya.. spoiled bratinela hate her! pag c boy nagalit sakanya ewan ko n lng.. i am sure pinagpa2 sensyahan lng nya si kris parati

Yay... both of them apologized to each other already. Don't prolong the controversy and make money out of other people's troubles. You are enjoying it too much. SCHADENFREUDE!

Whoever brought these two drama queens together is a GENIUS. They made Sunday afternoons more interesting.

agree with Voluptuous, Ruffa is no angel. Kris may be tactless but at least she's honest. i'll take an honest person anytime. at least, no pretentions. kesa naman "sweet" nga, pero pag nakatalikod ka naman e kung anu-ano sinasabi..

I wonder why Kris Aquino's always licking the asses of the Estradas? Why does she have to apologize to Jinggoy on behalf of his brother. Wala bang paninindigan brother niya at kailangang saluhin ni Kris. Ano ba yan?

MANILA STANDARD TODAY, MARCH 16, 2010 by Jojo Robles Speaking of free publicity, perhaps someone should ask presidential sister-in-waiting Kris Aquino how she manages to turn everything that happens to her into an endorsement of her brother’s candidacy. That’s exactly what Kris did on her show last Sunday in a tear-stained, 10-minute State of the Showbiz Nation Address that was—thankfully—almost totally drowned out by the roar of Pacquiao’s fists. I watched Kris’ impassioned plea for her brother (“who is not an artista,” as Kris reminds us, just a presidential candidate) on YouTube only because I got word that Cory’s showbiz-struck daughter had let loose with a torrent of tears in response to criticism of her actions as a result of her much-publicized media cat-fight with fellow actress Ruffa Gutierrez and Ruffa’s mom, Annabelle Rama. I wanted to know if I would be moved by Kris’ pleas to leave Noynoy Aquino out of her tabloid-headline life, having noted last week how she had been doing everything in her immense power (with the tacit approval of the owners of the powerful network she works for) to get him elected. It may have been the performance of her life, but it left me underwhelmed—and not simply because I had a nagging feeling that one of Kris’ objectives was to prove that she could turn on the waterworks as readily as Ruffa. And that, if Kris is really as truthful as she claims to be, she’d admit that she was merely using her program (for the umpteenth time) to boost her brother’s chances of winning. As one blogger noted, it was “as if the Aquino siblings had a severe publicity shortage,” prompting Kris to take “almost 10 minutes of valuable airtime to rectify that problem.” “It was just another way of milking ABS-CBN for the all the free media mileage the Aquinos can get,” the blogger pointed out. “Methinks the Comelec should count this towards Noynoy’s [campaign advertising] allotment.” Kris went on and on about her family being good people and about how her brother suffers every time she gets into trouble, since he had promised their late mom to take care of them. Then she muses about how this would not have happened if her mom were alive, conveniently forgetting that Noynoy has also promised Cory that he wouldn’t aspire to the presidency, either. At least Kris and I have found something we can agree on: It’s just two months until the elections. After that, whatever the result, we will probably not hear Kris Aquino shamelessly using every opportunity she gets to campaign for her brother anymore. But maybe that’s just wishful thinking, because if Aquino becomes president, it can be terrifying to contemplate what role Kris will play. Given that Kris is so into this Aquino “family” thing, it’s impossible to believe that she will, as she promises, simply go away. But that’s what we get when we elect presidents in this country—we also get the entire family, the courtiers, the hangers-on, the shadowy powers-behind-the-throne, the favored military officers, business moguls and contractors. It’s not unlike getting Kris and trying to keep Boy Abunda, James Yap and Baby James out. This is why Kris’ appeal for an exemption for Noynoy whenever she her fragile artista’s ego gets thrown under the bus every so often rings false: If she insists that she does what she does (like campaigning for her brother on and off the air) because she is a part of her family, she cannot decide when people think she is acting on her own or in the service of the Cojuangco-Aquino clan. That’s like saying that the New York Times is unfair for running a story on Hacienda Luisita, as it did yesterday, because Noynoy only personally owns a fraction of the family corporation that runs that bloodstained land. If the NYT claims that Noynoy lied when he offered to distribute the land to the tillers eventually (because a family member in charge of the hacienda says that will never happen), then it’s a legitimate story. But, as Kris tells us tearfully, their family never lies. The farmers who have been promised the land in Luisita by three generations of that same family may have another opinion—and none of Kris’ tears will ever convince them to see it her way.

I am no Kris fan. You can throw her under the bus for anything that she does. However, I still believe in her honesty which is not a virtue for most of the citizens in this Catholic country.

i'll take kris anytime than to have mikey arroyo or dato arroyo or mike arroyo..

i agree with Tita Aida.. in fact, dito sa office we have coined a new word "nagpapaka ruffa, nagpaka ruffa" one way of using it: "ano ba wag kang magpaka ruffa.. tagal tagal mo na palang nagpapaka ruffa" lam nyo ba sugiro meaning di ba?

...Can being honest be an excuse for being rude? ...Kris is so full of herself it's sickening, if you watch SNN, you'll cringe everytime Kris belittles Boy Abunda. ...She is the female version of Willie RevillaME. ...Annabelle can be an A$s because you already expect it from here. ...Kris acts lie one because she just knows she'll get away with it.

I used to be an admirer of Kris Aquino for her honesty and authenticity. After all this brouhaha, I was turned off by her drama. I felt that she didnt answer Annabelle's pronouncement on how many times she cuts off Ruffa in The Buzz. Why? Because it's true. A part of her cannot stand anyone having the last word or sharing a bigger spot in the limelight. She cannot see the world beyond her eyelashes. It's all about her, her and her. She has no idea how her "honesty" hurts so many people. Can't you be honest without cutting people off? Honest as she claims she is, she has no idea how much of an incompetent actress she is. I saw her being interviewed and she said how good her co-stars are in her teleserye, and she added that because of this "lalo rin siyang gumagaling". Hello? You cant act!! How can you claim honesty when you have delusions about your grandeur? If she has one talent, it is manuevering any issue to be "about her".
