The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) asked the Department of Foreign Affairs to issue an advisory to all Philippine posts to warn OFWs against rampant franchising scams, ABS-CBNNews.com reports.
DTI identified the following as bogus franchisors: Fran.con Franchise Marketing and Consultancy, Inc., Hamoraon Business Specialist Inc., and Michelle Ann Pacubas-Chan (single proprietor).
DTI advises OFWs to contact the DTI Direct Hotline 751-3330 or the Philippine Franchise Association and other relevant government agencies for verification of legitimate franchisors.
