Non-supporters of Senator Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III reacted to this bit of information with incredulity, posting not-so-flattering comments on their Facebook walls. It's not what you think. But talk about clever timing and picking the perfect name for a movie. To be distributed by Star Cinema, Noy The Movie topbills actor Coco Martin as Noy...Agapito, who poses as a journalist commissioned to produce a documentary†† following the 2010 campaign trail of the presidential bet and his namesake Noynoy Aquino III, who is currently leading the presidential race based on the unofficial election results as of May 13.

The trailer of Noy, The Movie

Directed by Dondon Santos, the film also stars Cherry Pie Picache, Erich Gonzales, Joem Bascon, Vice Ganda, and Baron Geisler and will be in cinemas on May 26.†† Martin told PEP.ph that he joined Aquino's various campaign activities and the actual footage were included in the film.

    Regardless of political association. The movie represents hope.

    Great movie, a must see.

    I watched the movie already. The story was boring and some plots are very untrue. Star Cinema or ABS-CBN made a lot of exaggerations in the campaign trails because I have been following up almost everything. I like Noynoy but I don't like the people around him who are so 'sip-sip' and trying to hide their real image covering themselves with Noynoy's image. ABS-CBN is one and some are Noy's cabinet members or inner core. I know the real (dark) stories of the people especially the family closest to the Aquinos.

    ABS-CBN is trying to make Noynoy more endearing so that the people who voted for him will not be dismayed at the travesty they have done -- to elect an incompetent person for President. Kawawa naman si Coco Martin nagamit for propaganda purposes.

    Yes, it is about the journalist Noy, but let's face it: it is also about Noy the presidential candidate who is a part of the Aquino family and who may very well be the next president of the Philippines. In the sense that the movie focuses on the hardships, poverty and family of the main character, the journalist Noy, with the inclusion of the presidential candidate Noy, the movie parallelizes the two characters. It somehow gives Noy the presidential candidate an image that like the journalist Noy, he also experiences hardships, problems, etc. The movie aims to "humanize" the presidential candidate, which in turn, would affect his image positively.

    Add the usual Pinoy hardships, family, drama, and a prominent figure, then you'd have the formula. If this isn't propaganda, I don't know what else it is.

    Hi Angelbyday, I respect your opinion but I don't think it is 'way too much' that ABS is releasing it. If they showed this movie in the lead up to the elections then no doubt it can and should be questioned. The documentary or film is more about Noy the journalist. Based on the trailer, it focuses on his family situation, as well so this should be interesting. And Coco is one of the best actors, if not the best of his generation so I'll watch this.

    Ano na ang nangyari sa "Red Shoes" ng UNITEL pinalabas na ba ito? Nauna pa yung "Noy"?

    @angelbyday
    I agree, ABS-CBN is way a bit over-the-top. That is called debt of gratitude -utang na loob. Remember, Cory was instrumental in restoring the fortune of the Lopez family. So, this is one way of making sipsip to Noynoy, as if they need to do it.

    If you remember Cory's funeral coverage, it was directed by no less than Johnny Manahan, Wowowee's TV director. Actually, matagal ng gawa ang pelikula. Ni-rush lang yung post-production for an earlier release. Timing is really crucial. We'll see kung pumatok ito sa takilya.

    Dapat ginawa nalang itong "Maala-ala Mo Kaya" episode. or a Mocumentary.

    sana nman ung mga big productions saten makagawa pa ng maraming HQ indie films, as HQ as Ploning.

    good path for coco, i think mejo narerecognized na ang indie films saten coz of him.masusukat ang kalibre ng isang aktor or aktres by picking the right story and role to play regardless kung low budgeted pa yan. Serbis, Tirador & Kinatay, mga ilang award winning indie movies na ksama c Coco!
