Actor Piolo Pascual has apologized to his former Lovers in Paris co-star KC Concepcion for a Twitter controversy involving his 13-year-old son Iņigo, reports ABS-CBNNews.com.
Pascual denied that Iņigo used Twitter to "malign" Concepcion, according to a statement he sent to The Buzz. He said Iņigo, who is studying in the US, does not even have a Twitter account, while his Facebook page was hacked. "He never texted anybody to malign Kristina [Concepcion]. He receives prank calls from different people even while in the States. He told me there are people harassing him and using his name to harass other people as well through the Internet."
Pascual's statement continued: "Please refrain from [using my son's name to ruin relationships] for we may seek legal counsel. My son is still a minor and a private individual. I'd like to apologize to Kristina and her family. Thank you for standing by me through this situation. I appreciate your support and maturity in handling this matter."
According to The Buzz, tabloids have reported that Iņigo had allegedly tweeted that he is angry with Concepcion, who has been linked to Pascual since they starred in Lovers in Paris. Reports also surfaced about an alleged Youtube video posted by Iņigo, showing him declaring he does not like Concepcion for his father.
Speaking on The Buzz on July 25, Concepcion tearfully said the negative reports have hurt her. She said Iņigo would not have written all those things about her since Pascual is "a very good father." She said, "Ginagawa niya ang lahat to be the man that his son needs kasi lumaki si PJ [Pascual] na walang tatay so gusto ni Piolo maging mabuting ama sa anak niya." She added that Iņigo was always nice to her whenever they saw each other.
However, if Iņigo does dislike her, Concepcion said she completely understands him since she was once in his position. "Ako po 'yong batang 'yon noong bata ako Siyempre mahirap naman 'yong mahal na mahal mo ang mga magulang mo, mahirap makitang magkahiwalay sila. Mahirap i-accept kung sino man ang napapalapit sa mga magulang mo." Concepcion is the daughter of the popular '80s pair Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion, who are now with different partners.
According to ABS-CBNNews.com, Cuneta said on July 22, "Disenteng bata si KC. Hindi sila opisyal ni Piolo pero matagal na silang nagkikita... Sana tantanan na nila ang anak ko."
