Pulse Asia's latest survey conducted from July 1 to 11 showed that 85 percent of Filipinos trust President Noynoy Aquino, reports ABS-CBNNews.com. It is Pulse Asia's highest trust rating recorded by any individual since 1999.

Thirteen percent were unable to say whether they trust Aquino or not, while two percent said they distrust the new President. Aquino scored highest in Visayas (89 percent) followed by Luzon and Mindanao (84 percent each), and Metro Manila (83 percent). Among socio-economic groupings, he scored the highest among the Class E (88 percent), followed by Class ABC (86 percent) and Class D (84 percent).

Pulse Asia's findings are close to the Social Weather Stations' (SWS) survey conducted from June 25 to 28, showing a net trust rating of +83. SWS Pres. Mahar Mangahas told Dateline Philippines, "I don't remember anything higher than that. I want to confirm it... I will have to look at our archives." He said the Philippines might be having a "honeymoon" period with Aquino.

According to PhilStar.com, Pulse Asia conducted face-to-face interviews with 1,200 representatives aged 18 years old and above. The poll has a 95 percent confidence level.

Pulse Asia's Ulat ng Bayan March 2010 Survey showed that the prevailing sentiment regarding then outgoing Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo "remained one of public disapproval" at 59 percent. This was her highest disapproval score since March 2001. Twenty-seven percent could not say whether they approve or disapprove of her performance, while 14 percent approve. According to the Pulse Asia report on their website, "The current overall approval score of President Arroyo is the lowest she [had] received since becoming president in January 2001."
