Following their rumored word war over Derek Ramsay, actress Angelica Panganiban, Ramsay's girlfriend, apologized to actress Gretchen Barretto, Ramsay's love interest in Magkaribal, on The Buzz, reports ABS-CBNNews.com.

The Buzz co-host Boy Abunda asked Panganiban what she would like to say to Barretto. He gave her the choice to not respond but she dove right in. "Gusto kong humingi ng pasensiya sa mga nabitawan kong salita. Hindi ko siya kilala, hindi niya 'ko kilala. Ngayon naiintindihan ko, unti-unti ko siyang nakikilala and 'yong mga tao sa paligid namin ang nagsasabi mabuti siyang tao. At ang nagsabi noon si Derek mismo."  ("I would like to apologize for the things I said. We both don't know each other well. Now I understand and I'm beginning to know her. The people around us, especially Derek, say she is a good person.")

Her voice broke when she said, "Sana hindi pa huli yung lahat para makapagsimula uli kami. Kung nasaktan niya ako, nasaktan ko rin siya kaya sorry. And sana maka-build-up ako ng friendship sa kanya. (I hope it's not too late for us to start over. She hurt me, and I hurt her as well. I'm sorry. I hope we can become friends.)"

PEP.ph reports  Barretto as saying she accepts Panganiban's apology "with all [her] heart" and that it's "certainly not too late" for them to become friends. She said, "I respect Angelica more now simply because [it's different] when you can own up to your reactions. 'Oops, I was wrong.' So now, I see the real beauty of Angelica--not only physically but [also the] strength of her character. I respect her with all my heart. And I love her already."

She added, "I am really thankful to God  It's not only [because] I have Magkaribal, but [also because] I have Derek as a good friend. Now I have Angelica also." She thanked Ramsay for "really working on" patching things up between her and Panganiban. "I was worried for a while [that my friendship with Derek would be affected]."

Barretto said she is willing to working with Panganiban in the future. "Why not? I'm open to anything. I'm open to being not just a friend, but a very good friend to her and Derek."

After her The Buzz appearance on August 8, Panganiban took to Twitter and thanked her friends and followers for their messages of support. Comedian Pokwang Tweeted, "Bravooo!!! Nag iisa talaga ang anak kong angelica panganiban!! Pak! I love you nak!!" On August 9, Panganiban Tweeted, "I'm starting a new life!! Tarrraaayyy!!"
