Trailer of Subject: I Love You

(SPOT.ph) The world premiere of Filipino actor Jericho Rosales' first international movie Subject: I Love You was sold out as Filipino-American fans flocked to the Newport Beach Film Festival in California last week, reports ABS-CBN News.

According to the report, the film was the first Filipino production to be shown in the festival and the first to have a sold-out screening. It is a romantic thriller based on the high-profile 2002 computer virus linked to a Filipino. Directed by Francis dela Torre, the film stars Rosales, Step Up 2's Briana Evigan, True Blood's Kristin Bauer, Dean Cain of Superman fame, and Filipino singer-actor Gary Valenciano.

Rosales said he is happy that Filipinos and Americans "loved the movie." Because of the number of Filipinos who went to the festival, the organizers are planning on screening more Filipino films next year. "Our goal is to bring the best of classic and contemporary filmmaking here to Southern California, the epicenter for moviemaking. And we felt that Subject: I Love You is an outstanding film and one that resonates with our audience here and in its home country," Chief Executive Officer Gregg Schwenk said.

Looks like a B movie to me. rnrnContrived addition of romance and thriller-factor just to stretch an obviously flimsy story line. rnrnJust saying. Peace!
