(SPOT.ph) A 14-year-old girl from Pampanga, Samantha Gomez, has won the Philippine leg of Ford Models' Supermodel of the World 2011 competition, reports 24 Oras. She will be the Philippine representative in the international competition to be held in August in New York.
The youngest in this year's batch of contestants, Gomez also won the Photogenic Award at the awarding ceremony held Saturday during Philippine Fashion Week. She has big shoes to fill, since last year's Philippine bet Danica Magpantay took home the grand prize in the Supermodel of the World competition.

Gomez told 24 Oras, "I will do my best... to be an international model." Joey Espino of CalCarrie's International Models Philippines said, "We need somebody who (can) really show them what we've got, what Filipinos can share... A global Filipino."
According to a press release, Gomez will receive a one-year modeling contract with CalCarrie's International Models Philippines, formal training at Masters School for Models, and a roundtrip ticket to New York plus pocket money. In New York, she has a chance to win $250,000 worth of modeling contracts with Ford Models New York.
