Vatican allows priests to forgive abortion during World Youth Day in Spain

(SPOT.ph) The Vatican has allowed priests to forgive those admitting to the sin of abortion during the mass confession that will be held tomorrow, August 20, as part of the World Youth Day celebrations in Spain this weekend, reports Reuters.


"This (concession) is to make it easier for the faithful who attend the World Youth Day celebrations to obtain the fruits of divine grace," the Madrid archdiocese said in a statement on its website.


Pope Benedict will hear three confessions before heading a mass to be attended by around 6,000 seminarians. He arrived in Spain yesterday, August 18. The cost of Pope Benedict's visit sparked protests from the LGBT community, disaffected youths, and even some Spanish priests of the currently economically indigent country.

    @abortionista actually di basta2 pwedeng magpatawad ang isang pari ng kasalanan like abortion. He needs to ask his bishop for a "license" tapos may certain number na pwede lang iforgive like 5 or something tapos pag naubos eh kelangan i-refill although overly simplistic itong explanation ko. Kaya kahit may buddy2 kang pari di ka parin lusot at mahihiya ka sigurong mag-confess sa "buddy" mo na pari knowing that afterwards, kapag titingnan ka niya eh parang he has this "knowing look."
