GMA News Online, citing a Gulf News article, reports that an unnamed Filipina maid in the United Arab Emirates faced a Dubai court on Wednesday, September 7, "for having sex with her Indian boyfriend in the house of her employer."
The report went on to say that both the maid and her boyfriend, an Indian driver, faced the court on charges of consensual sex. The maid was also charged for trespassing, since she "illegally let her boyfriend into her employer's house."
But the plot thickens.
Both defendants, who had pleaded guilty to charges of consensual sex during prosecution investigations, confessed that they were already married (to other people). The Gulf News report revealed that the maid "begged the authorities for forgiveness, saying she regretted her action and wanted them to treat her with mercy since she is a married woman."
Meanwhile, the driver told officers at Al Muraqqabat police station, "I waited a while outside the house before she signaled that it was okay to let me in, after making sure everyone in the house was asleep."
The two then proceeded to have sex in the living room. But, according to the report, the Filipina's employer, an account manager, accidentally walked in on their tryst.
At that point, the employer, who had just gotten home, found the living room door locked so he decided to climb into the house through the living room window. He related: "It was dark. When I switched on the light, I found a man completely naked lying on my sofa with our helper."
The employer told Gulf News that the man jumped up, put on his clothes, and ran off. The employer then contacted police to report the incident.
The final verdict for the case is expected on September 15.
