ABS-CBNNews.com reports that in the early hours of January 21, 2012, Bureau of Customs (BOC) clerk Paulino Elevado figured in a traffic altercation with a 20-year-old student somewhere in Makati. Elevado was driving a white Porsche, while the student was driving a Toyota Innova. The report did not indicate the student's name.

According to the report, Elevado and the student had engaged in a "high-speed car chase" that took them to the South Luzon Expressway.

The report said that the student had allegedly bumped Elevado's posh sports car. The scene was caught on CCTV camera. The report noted that the student had "swerved to the service road heading to Villamor Air Base in an attempt to evade Elevado." However, Elevado and his passenger, who was identified as Florencio Bato, eventually caught up with the student, who also had a friend as a passenger.

The student claims that Elevado and Bato beat them up. Then, Elevado reportedly retrieved a gun from the Porsche. The report noted: "The student told police that Elevado fired at his vehicle four times during the chase. Bullet holes were found in the rear of the Toyota Innova."

BOC Commissioner Ruffy Biazon said he has ordered an investigation on Customs clerk  for "grave abuse of authority." He has also ordered a lifestyle check on Elevado for the most obvious reason—the Porsche. The report indicated that on Thursday, February 2, Elevado was placed on "floating status."

The report revealed "Elevado and Bato were caught near a Pasay hotel and were turned over to police. Recovered from them was a caliber .40 calibre firearm." The date of their capture was not indicated. In any case, the report said, "(Elevado and Bato) are facing charges of physical injuries and attempted murder. Both were jailed for two days before being released prior to the preliminary investigation."
