Whoever said, "You are what you eat" clearly never thought something like this would happen.
CNN.com—via its Eatocracy section—reports that a man literally had a heart attack while he was eating at the Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas. What was he munching on? Well, it was something called the Triple Bypass Burger, which boasts of 6,000 calories. According to the report, the man, who is described as "in his 40s," began to feel chest pains. Restaurant owner Jon Basso called 911. Paramedics arrived on the scene and took the man to the hospital. The man, who was not named in the CNN.com report, is said to be recuperating from his near-fatal burger session.
CNN.com pointed out: "Heart Attack Grill is no stranger to controversy, actively courting fans and nayayers alike with slogans like 'Taste worth dying for!' and 'Cash only, because you might die before the check clears.'"
What's even more ironic is the fact that Heart Attack Grill, a burger joint which takes pride in its "sinful" offerings, has a hospital theme. As the NY Daily News noted: "Patients wear hospital gowns over their clothes and are served by waitresses in skimpy nurse's uniforms, who check diners' pulses before taking their drink order." The store's owner also dresses up as a doctor. Customers who weigh over 350 pounds get to eat for free.
