Pacman says God told him to retire—but he'll have 3 more fights before quits boxing for good

Published: Mar 21, 2012 - 10:31am

Manila Bulletin Online reports that after saying in a radio interview on Monday, March 19, that "God told me to retire," boxer-lawmaker Manny Pacquiao is still set to be in three more fights. Pacquiao clarified that he'll definitely retire after the said matches. That means his June 9 fight against Tim Bradley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas is the first of his self-declared "final three" ring outings.

According to the report, boxig insiders speculate that Pacquiao will also fight Juan Manuel Marquez and Floyd Mayweather Jr., if both camps reach an agreement financially.

He's a man of character. He chose to obey God's call. It's something that most of us find hard to do, right?

Manny, I would advice na ibahin mo na lang ang career path mo.Yung less violent, gaya ng maging Preacher ka na lang. Don't go into politics, magulo yun at dudimi pa pangalan mo.

He's retiring because he has a lot of $$$ already and because he's getting older. His last fight was not impressive at all. Pacquiao has an agenda. He wants to make sure that he stays in the limelight so he would get votes for his political ambition.

Arum doesn't seem to be on the bandwagon, too. His guy will definitely pack heat come training camp. Can't believe Bradley is on a veggie diet. Will expect that from a ballerina, not a boxer.

Is he sure that it was God who told him that? As great a boxer that he is, I am not a believer of Paquiao as a person. We know he worships a different kind of god. It might've been the god$ or San Miguel or even lord chavit.
