ABS-CBNNews.com reports that former United States State Senator Micheal Wiener is now in hot water after pictures of him visiting Angeles City's red-light district were posted on the Internet. The photos, which show Wiener posing with several young Filipino women, as well as his Filipina girlfriend, were reportedly taken by photojournalist John Keatley, who posted them on his blog last April 24.
According to the report, Keatley wrote on his blog that Wiener, whom he didn't recognize at first, approached him and asked him "to take his picture with a group of ’bar girls.’" Keatley reportedly wrote that it was through Facebook that he learned that the man was Wiener, a former New Mexico state senator and the current Republican county commissioner in Bernalillo County.
Wiener has reportedly denied any wrongdoing, saying he went to the Philippines to visit his Filipina fiancée and that as a hard-working commissioner, he has the right to take a vacation. He also said he didn't give Keatley permission to use the photos for his blog. Nevertheless, Wiener's fellow County Commissioner Michelle Lujan Grisham, a Democratic U.S. House candidate, has reportedly asked for his resignation following the controversy.
