Lady Gaga tagged by PH religious groups as "Satanic," 72-hour prayer vigil to be held to protest her concert

Satanic or simply shocking?

 

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that Filipino religious groups Intercessors for the Philippines (IFTP) and Biblemode Youth Philippines are actively campaigning against the staging of Lady Gaga's upcoming concert. The pop star is set to perform on May 21 and May 22 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Both groups are set to hold a 72-hour prayer vigil to protest Lady Gaga's scheduled performances. The report, however, did not indicate if the groups would be doing it jointly in the same venue. The exact schedule of the prayer vigil was also not revealed. The report only said that anti-Lady Gaga protesters would stage a "Jericho March" to the SM Mall of Asia sometime on Saturday, May 19.

 

According to the report, the IFTP, in particular, believed that Lady Gaga was propagating "Satanic rituals" in her videos. (They were presumably referring to the video for her song, "Judas.") The report quoted IFTP's Pastor Joel Bataclan, who said, "Yung kanyang paggamit ng mga imageries (sic) at mga lyrics na direktang lumalaban sa Panginoon (She uses imagery and lyrics that are directly against God)."

 

Meanwhile, the Commission on Youth of  Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines' Fr. Conegundo Garganta said that Lady Gaga's brand of entertainment violates the tenets of Christianity. Garganta lamented that the youth are being corrupted by Lady Gaga. "Kinokopya nila lahat eh—ang pag-iisip, ang pagkilos, ang paggalaw (They mimic everything she does—from the way she thinks, moves, and acts)," sabi ni , executive secretary ng Commission on Youth ng CBCP.

    Alam mo ang studies na sinasabi mo ay pang American. Bakit mo gagamitin ang study ng America sa Pilipinas at Pilipino? Iba ang kultura ng pinoy sa americans. Hindi mo ba alam na ang mga Amerikano ay mas inclined sila sa leisure kaya ang mga activities nila ay leading to pleasure at sila mas malaki ang suicidal tendency. Ang pinoy ay considered na happy people kaya hindi masyado malaki ang suicidal tendency. Mayron pero, natuturuan sila at nagagabayan unlike sa America kasi nga culture nila ang may problema.

    Bakit ba mas marami kang alam sa America? May ibang klase ng mentality ka ba? Pilipinas at Pilipino ang pinag uusapan dito. Huwag ka masyadong maka uncle Sam, Gald to be Pinoy pa naman ang username mo.     people who commit suicide have been depressed in the first place-- it's not the songs that pushed them to kill themselves, but their depression. you're so obobs!

    alam mo, in case you dont know your music history, yan din ang sinasabi nila about Elvis's and the Beatles' music. but our parents and grand parents survived... and are here criticizing Lady Gaga.

    I dont find her music satanic. just plain cheesy.

      @gina...i do not know lady g*g* or any of her songs so i am not in a position to say if she is satanic or not. but allow me to share with everybody what i have read about the effects on listening to songs that are considered anti-christ:

      1. studies show that most of the people who committed suicide listen to rock or satanic songs. this is the reason why there was a proposal in one of the states in america to ban rock concerts.

      2. rock and satanic songs may result to negative subliminal seduction.
