15. Have a movie spa-rty in Quezon City.
Tomas Morato regulars now have their very own Blue Water Day Spa branch near Scout Bayoran. All their spa branches offer the same services but only the Tomas Morato and Greenhills branches have the spa theater. At the 16-seater spa theater at Tomas Morato, you can get a foot reflexology treatment, a manicure or pedicure, a body massage, body scrub or waxing. If you'd rather not choose a customized party package, choose their regular P10,000 (consumable) three-hour spa party for 10 people. Tip: the Combo Herbal Massage, a combination of Swedish and Shiatsu massage, is the most requested at this branch. It's also Blue Water Day Spa endorser and singer Karylle's favorite.
Blue Water Day Spa is at #238 Tomas Morato near Scout Bayoran, Quezon City. Call them at 486-5584.
14. Eat healthy siopao.
Take a bite of the pao celebrities like Bubbles Paraiso and Carla Humphries have been raving about. Gourmet Pao, model Mikaela Lagdameo-Martinez' brainchild, has over 10 flavors like bacon and cheese, and pork and chicken barbecue. At P120 per piece and P720 per box of six, Gourmet Pao is available in regular or wheat bread. There's even a party pao as big as six paos called the KC Pao--named after customer and radio host KC Montero--containing spam, egg and cheese. Adding to Gourmet Pao's two branches in Muntinlupa and Sta. Rosa, the SM Fairview branch will open on July 16. All branches deliver.
Gourmet Pao is at 2/F Alabang Town Center, Muntinlupa City; and MVY Bldg. (in front of Honda), Sta. Rosa. Call 211-1099 or 0917-5377726.
13. Play Ultimate Frisbee any day of the week
If you still have or have just caught the disc fever, join the Ultimate Frisbee sessions happening every day at different Manila spots: the Meralco All-Purpose Field, University of the Philippines Diliman Sunken Garden, Cuenca Park and more. Since the schedule changes regularly, check first with the Philippine Ultimate Association at puaboard@gmail.com before heading out.
12. Turn this restaurant into your own movie house.
Gather at least seven friends on a Tuesday and reserve a table at PenPen Restaurant where you can watch your movies on their 40-inch flat screen TV equipped with surround sound. (DVDs and AVI files are accepted). For movie chow, ditch the popcorn and gorge on three kinds of pasta and seven sauces at PenPen's Pasta All You Can Tuesdays. The promo is available for P250 per person or P235 per person for groups of four.
PenPen's Movie Club and Pasta All You Can promo happens every Tuesday at 105-C Scout Castor, Brgy. Laging Handa, Quezon City. Call them at 332-4021.
11. Write in old-school longhand.
Because sometimes, nothing beats pouring your heart out on quality paper. At Papertrail, enjoy a smorgasbord of quirky paper products and accessories: notebooks, stationery, and planners, and even bucket totes and gourmet-scented pencils called "smencils." Their environment-friendly products don't just come in the traditional brown but also in different colors and patterns. Fun fact: Top fashion designer Rajo Laurel, who said Papertrail has the "most unique and exciting" paper products he has ever seen, couldn't help but lap up the store's food-shaped erasers from Japan.
Papertrail is at Unit 201 La'O Bldg., 1000 Arnaiz Ave., Makati City. Call 403-7523 or email papertrail.ph@gmail.com. Visit their website.
