Karylle and Christian Bautista headline The Kitchen Musical
(SPOT.ph) The Kitchen Musical, the "gastronomusical," genre-busting TV show starring Karylle and Christian Bautista as dancing and singing sous chefs premiered on the small screen last week.
The show with a recipe for drama, dance, music and food revolves around Karylle (Maddie), a Le Cordon Bleu grad who works the kitchen of The Avilon, a topnotch family-owned restaurant, with fellow sous chef, Christian (Daniel). Expect the cast to break out in song and groove to hits like The Black Eyed Peas' "Boom, Boom Pow" and Matchbox 20's "Unwell" in between all the slicing and dicing in the kitchen (the cast had to attend a two-day kitchen bootcamp prior to filming). Karylle and Christian star alongside British and Asian actors, plus fellow Pinoy talents Thou Reyes, Ikey Canoy and Art Acuna. According to the show's producers, The Group Entertainment, every episode also features French recipes and wine pairings.
The show is broadcast in 16 countries across Asia and Europe including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and The Philippines. If you didn't catch the pilot episode on Studio 23 over the weekend, stay in on October 15, Saturday at 8 p.m. and catch the AXN premiere.
