(SPOT.ph) Following the launch of the Philippine iPhone 4S in the Philippines on December 16, videos of "Ate Vangie, the Pinoy Siri" are making the Facebook and Twitter rounds. The first video was posted on YouTube.com on December 23 and has over 700,000 views. The video highlights "Ate Vangie" as the Pinoy counterpart to Siri since the iPhone 4S' virtual assistant's functionalities are reportedly not working as well in the Philippines.
According to the spoof video made by Macapuno Systems, Vangie "was developed to fully understand Pinoy culture," hence Vangie understands instructions spoken in Taglish, clarifies if your phone contact's name is spelled with the letter H, has a handy recipe on how to make Pinoy spaghetti and can even send messages in "jeje speak."
The second video, posted on December 24, shows Ate Vangie helping iPhone 4s users with Metro Manila traffic during the holidays. Tech-savvy Vangie is also on Facebook and Twitter.
