After Nine Years, BGC's The Bowery Closes Its Doors
(SPOT.ph) BGC's got more than its fair share of watering holes, and yet The Bowery managed to make an unparalleled mark on its many workers, residents, and everyone in between. The New York-inspired restaurant-slash-bar made its debut in 2014, with savory and sweet eats covering breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between—rightfully so as they were open 24 hours a day. They'd also have guest DJs and and held special events regularly, making them a popular hangout for BGC-dwellers looking to destress after a long day (or week) at work. These all made for beautiful chapters in their book, yet for now they're putting their story on pause as the restaurant has announced its closure for the time being.

Dine-in restaurant and bar The Bowery says goodbye for now:
"We love you more than words can say," The Bowery writes in a post published today, April 3, on their Instagram page. "Thank you for a smashing good awesome amazing nine years!" Attached to the post is a short clip that says, "Thank you for you."
Thankfully, things aren't completely over yet; The Bowery assures us that this isn't a permanent departure. "We aren’t saying goodbye. We are saying—see you soon."
Initially led by Chef Cuit Kaufman (also of Nolita and Borough), The Bowery became a fast fave for their comfort classics taken notches up with subtle twists here and there, and elements made from scratch where possible (even their cereal!). It definitely didn't hurt that their food carried clear New York-style flair that fit right into the diverse dining scene BGC is known for.
Fingers crossed it doesn't take too long before they reopen. "For now, this is Bowery, signing off."
