Here's what we know about CoCo Ichibanya in the South:
We spotted the CoCo Ichibanya board-up on the ground floor of the Sykes Building in Alabang Town Center. If you're trying to visualize exactly where that is, it's near where Purple Oven and Salad Stop are.
Kids down South might have seen the boardup there for a while, but get this, Spotters: CoCo Ichibanya is set to open this May! Considering we only have a few days left in the month, we're excited this Japanese curry chain will open sooner than later.
For the uninitiated, when we talk about Japanese curry, we're not referring to the fiery concoctions you might find in India or Thailand. The Japanese have their distinct take on this beloved dish—slightly sweeter and milder in spice but still packing a punch of flavor. And if there's one place that has mastered the art of Japanese curry, it's CoCo Ichibanya.
This curry restaurant chain from Japan has been around since 1978. They made their Philippine debut at Estancia Mall in 2015 and have since opened more branches around the Metro and even in Cebu.
CoCo Ichibanya Alabang Town Center is at G/F ATC Corporate Center, Madrigal Avenue, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. For more information, visit CoCo Ichibanya PHs' Facebook page.
