After 10 Years, Green Pastures in Shang Plaza Is Closing Their Doors
(SPOT.ph) Farm-to-table dining came about in the '60s and '70s; in Manila it became especially popular around 2013 to 2014. It was around this time, too, that Green Pastures made their debut at the Shangri-La Plaza mall in Mandaluyong, serving hip yet wholesome eats by Chef Robby Goco that highlighted great-quality local ingredients. It's been quite the decade for the restaurant, over which time they've become a go-to for the health-inclined (and the Shang Titas, too). Sadly, it seems we've reached the last chapter of their story. The brand has announced that it's closing its Shangri-La Plaza branch—its first, and currently lone, outpost—by the end of the month.

Green Pastures is closing for good:
Green Pastures made the announcement on social media, stating that they're closing by May 31. "It is with a heavy heart that after 10 years of creating good food made exciting we will permanently close our doors," they write. They thank customers for their support over the years; their employees for their "hard work, dedication, and commitment"; and everyone who's been a "part of our journey." "We will always cherish the memories we have made and the relationship we've formed along the way."
Helmed by Chef Robby Goco (of Cyma fame), the restaurant served all sorts of savory eats—from fun appetizers like the Duck You fries (fried in duck fat and sprinkled with duck confit!) to seasonal salads to hearty mains using sustainably sourced meats and the like. Worth noting, too, was how they'd make whatever components they could from scratch: pasta, ricotta, cured fish and meat, and so on. They will be missed.
Green Pastures is at L/4 East Wing, Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City. For more information, check out Green Pastures' Facebook page.
