(SPOT.ph) We Manila folks love a good pizza anytime—and the stakes were raised as homegrown establishments Crosta Pizzeriaa mano, and Wildflour Italian were included as part of the 2022 Asia Pacific edition of the best-pizzeria list of Italian online publication 50 Top Pizza. Guess what: the 2023 edition just dropped, with the said restaurants again included—all on higher positions than last year's, at that.

These local pizzerias are again listed in the 2023 edition of 50 Top Pizza in the Asia-Pacific region:

Crosta Pizzeria jumps a whopping 22 spots, going from 32nd in last year's version to 10th this time around for their "warm and welcoming" atmosphere, "excellent quality" takes on varying pizza styles, and use of great (and often Italy-sourced) raw materials that makes all the difference. Not only that; they've also been bestowed with the Pizza of the Year 2023 Latteria Sorrentina Award for their Culatello, Black Tasmanian Cherries Marinated in Marsala, Gorgonzola Cream, Mozzarella, and Balsamic Vinegar pizza—a limited-edition special by Chef Yuichi Ito (formerly of Tokyo's Pizza Bar on 38th, which got the top spot on this same list!).

Also making a comeback to the list is a mano—the Italian establishment known for their traditional-leaning pizzas cooked in their red Valoriani oven. From being listed at 48th in 2022, they jump 33 spots all the way to 15th place, gaining praise for their signatures that "bring the best of Italian gastronomic culture to the table" and way of "[satisfying] the palate and the desire to eat authentic Italian."

Finally, Wildflour Italian also finds themselves listed, now at 35th place from last year's 38th. The publication shines the spotlight their pizza crust, calling it a "generous and tasty... thin disk" that "welcomes fresh toppings"—and praising the "perfect baking" that makes for "fragrant" results.

Over at Wildflour Italian it's all about classics from the said cuisine—pizza included of course—done right.
