Karen's Kitchen Has Closed Its Doors
(SPOT.ph) Sad news for sweets lovers: After 14 years of whipping up some of the Metro's best pastries and desserts, including a much talked-about red-velvet cake, Karen's Kitchen has closed its doors.

Karen's Kitchen was best known for their red velvet, which came either in cupcake or cake form. They sit on the top spot of SPOT's top 10 red velvet cupcake list for a cake that's decadent and moist, with a tangy cream-cheese frosting to round it all out. Aside from red velvet, they've also become rightfully famous for their cheesecakes: Their Strawberry Cheesecake also made it on another top 10 list for its creamy cheesecake base and a strawberry topping that gets the familiar tang of the berry perfectly. They also had a two-flavored cheesecake that combined blueberry and strawberry for more indecisive folks.
In a Facebook post, Karen Young shares that while Karen's Kitchen may have closed, a cookbook featuring her recipes is currently in the works. Guess this won't be the last we'll see of the master pastry chef.
