10 Best Places for Breakfast in Makati City
(SPOT.ph) Whether it’s because we’re rushing out the door in the morning or we’re simply too lazy to prepare it, breakfast is usually a meal that many of us skip. But if you’re living or working in Makati City, there are plenty of places that serve what is arguably the most important meal of the day.
Here are 10 of the best places for breakfast in Makati City:
Little Flour
There’s something for everyone at Little Flour, an all-day brunch concept by the same team behind Wildflour. Not only are there pastries like croissants and doughnuts, but also fluffy and sweet Ricotta Pancakes (P460), and rich, pillowy-soft Brioche French Toast (P420). They also have rice bowls for those hoping for a substantial breakfast like Pork Adobo Fried Rice (P450) or the vegan-friendly Mushroom Bowl (P420).
Little Flour is at G/F The Stratosphere, 136 Valero Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City.
Single Origin
This café sticks to the basics and does it well. They specialize in single-origin coffee, which uses beans sourced from a single country or farm. This means that each cup of coffee has a unique flavor profile, depending on where the beans are sourced from. This back-to-basics approach also extends to Single Origin’s menu. For example, while they have many sweet and savory variations of waffles to choose from, the Classic (P295) still stands out with whipped butter and Vermont maple syrup is the best. It’s the perfect midpoint between salty and sweet, fluffy and crisp.
Single Origin has branches at G/F Edades Tower and Garden Villas, Amorsolo Street corner Rockwell Drive, Rockwell, Makati City; and Level 1, Greenbelt 3, Ayala Center, Greenbelt, Makati City.
Yardstick
Yardstick may be best known for their excellent coffee, but their food is also worth braving the harsh Makati traffic for. Always freshly cooked, the waffles (P230) are some of the best in the city. They can be topped with butterscotch, salted caramel, or lemon curd for a zesty zing. If you’re looking for something savory, they also offer a Chicken and Waffles (P270) combo.
Yardstick is at G/F Universal LMS Building, 106 Esteban Street, Legazpi Village, Makati City.
The Wholesome Table
Since opening their doors in 2014, The Wholesome Table has become a gateway restaurant for those hoping to eat healthier. It prides itself on an all-natural approach when it comes to food, and it's completed eliminated hydrogenated fat, margarine, and MSG from the menu. For a hefty plate, get the Meat and Eggs Plate (P270 to P360), which comes with eggs, broiled tomatoes, your choice of protein, toast or garlic rice, and a side salad. It’s available all day and is a great hangover cure, too.
The Wholesome Table has branches at Infinity Tower, H.V. Dela Costa corner L.P. Leviste Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City; Level 1, Greenbelt 2, Ayala Center, Greenbelt, Makati City; and 2/F Power Plant Mall, Rockwell, Makati City.
Dean & Deluca
Dean & Deluca may be on the pricier side, but one glance at their menu and you’ll realize why this café is a favorite haunt among the titas of Makati. For one, they’re home to one of the best French toasts in Metro Manila. Their take on the classic breakfast staple, the Brûléed French Toast (P360), uses thick brioche topped with French cream, caramel drizzle, and generous servings of fresh fruit. But if you’re hoping to start your day on a savory note, you can opt for their Angus Beef Tapa (P550), which comes with parsley pesto rice, a fried egg, and homemade ricotta cheese.
Dean & Deluca has branches at G/F Edades Tower And Garden Villas, Amorsolo Street corner Waterfront Drive, Rockwell, Makati City; G/F Eton Tower, Dela Rosa corner V. A. Rufino Street, Legaspi Village, Makati City.

Harlan + Holden
It’s easy to spot Harlan + Holden from afar. With its greenhouse-inspired design, lush greenery, and subdued color palette, this restaurant is a breath of fresh air amongst the usual gray that surrounds the city. The space might draw you in, but it’s the restaurant’s French Toast (P350)—currently the best in Manila—that will make you want to stay. Sweet and salty, browned and golden, this French toastalso comes with a side of country sausage for a complete morning meal.

This rooftop destination is an all-day breakfast concept by the same team behind the now-defunct Hey Handsome. They serve both Filipino and Western fare, but if you want to try a bit of everything, consider ordering their Essential Breakfast (P325), a hefty and hearty platter composed of English bangers, bacon, eggs with pesto, toast, and potato confit.

Goto Monster
This spot in Makati is not your ordinary gotohan. Goto Monster’s take on the classic Pinoy rice porridge is a little extra special as they add turmeric ginger, tinapa flakes, and salted egg to the broth for extra umami. If you’re in the mood for something a bit more filling, Goto Monster is also home to the best tapsilog in town. Their Tapsilog (P175) has tapa that’s the perfect mix of sweet, salty, and garlicky. Finish off your meal with any of their Filipino-inspired waffles like the sweet and salty Champorado Waffle (P200), a chocolate waffle topped with crispy bits of dilis.
Goto Monster is at Primo de Rivera Street corner Pablo Ocampo Sr. Extension, La Paz, Makati City.
