(SPOT.ph) Spanish food never goes out of style in these parts, and there’s a new player on the block: Txoko, a restaurant by the same folks behind Bar Pintxos. Located in Legazpi Village and boasting a 280-square meter space that can seat up to 80, Txoko opens for dinner only from today until March 15, but will be open for lunch and dinner from March 16 onwards.
Txoko highlights asador cooking, which involves meat and seafood grilled over wood and charcoal. Just some of the grilled meats to look forward to are the Cuarto de Lechazo, Patatas e Hinojo (P5,500), or suckling lamb quarter, panadera potato, and fennel; and the Cuarto de Cochinillo (P2,100), or suckling pig quarter, salad, and revolcona potatoes.
Moreover, Txoko’s selection also includes modern takes on Spanish classics. Look forward to flavorful bites like the Croquetas Asadas, or grilled croquetas (P520); Gambas a la Brasa con Ajada (P560), or grilled white shrimps and garlic dressing; Tartar de Solomillo (P750), a steak tartare-like dish with stracciatella cheese, pasteurized egg, and fried capers; Paella Marinera (P820), or paella with with prawns, maya-maya, and mussels with green sauce; Cojonudo, their signature pintxo with chorizo and quail eggs on brioche; Gambas a la Brasa con Ajada (P560), or grilled white shrimps and garlic dressing; and the Canelones de Txangurro (P765), or crab canneloni.
For dessert, don’t miss out on their special Idiazabal Cheesecake (P480) made with smoked Idiazabal cheese. Portions are made for sharing, so be sure to bring your friends and family. And in true Bar Pintxos Group fashion, you can expect a well-curated selection of drinks, which includes classic and creative cocktails, wines, and craft beers you can enjoy at their special bar area.
