(UPDATE) NAIA on Limited Operations on New Year's Day Due to Technical Issue

(SPOT.ph) The Ninoy Aquino International Airport was on partial operations on New Year's Day due to a technical issue that threatened to derail the holiday travel plans of tens of thousands.
Flights will resume "as soon as possible" after operations were put on hold early afternoon today, airport authorities said. Airlines advised passengers to check their flight status before going to the airport and avail of rebooking options.

Some 120,000 passengers use NAIA on average per day during the Christmas rush, GMA Network's 24 Oras newscast reported on Dec. 30.
What happened at NAIA?
Flag carrier said a technical issue at the airport's navigation system caused the disruption, which it described as "temporary".
