This Under-the-Radar Secondhand Store in Baclaran Hides All Sorts of Gems
(SPOT.ph) The initial plan of Miguel Go and Nica Dominique, owners of The Archives Vintage, was only to hold a garage sale in February last year—not to build one, if not the only, vintage store in Baclaran.
"It all started as a hobby-slash-side hustle that we both enjoy," they tell SPOT.ph in an Instagram exchange. "And when we had the garage sale, we saw the opportunity to pursue our passion full-time; learning also that there's a growing community of people (in the Philippines) who appreciate the vintage and secondhand scene."

The area in the south of Metro Manila really isn't on top of mind when thinking about thrift-slash-vintage stores—that's more of Quezon City, Makati, and Manila neighborhoods—but it's not meant to be completely ruled out. After all, Baclaran is a place known for its goods and markets. They share, "Here in Baclaran, if we're not mistaken, we're the only vintage shop."
Looking for a new place to thrift? The Archive Vintage shop should be on your list when you're around the area.
You'll find the place filled to the brim; hangers upon hangers of a variety of jackets—from denim, bombers, varsity, et cetera—pullovers, sweaters. We know it's still the summer season, but it never hurts to be prepared for the cold and rainy weather. Plus, you won't be able to resist their collection and may or may not end up grabbing a few, as this Nike windbreaker we (and a lot of people) saw on their socials. Of course, there are some good ol' fashioned graphic tees and kicks.
You can sift through their wide selection of curated vintage wear: from the colorful and printed tops and polos; Flip through folded and hanging jeans (get a load of these Dickies pants) from racks and shelves when you drop by their equally colorful and cute space. No doubt you'll spend hours just going through inside.
"Our brand’s product selection generally caters to different types of markets, as we want to be able to reach and share the variety of pieces that we have from everyday clothes to statement pieces," they explain.
Take this as your sign to explore more thrift-slash-vintage shops with your friends. By nature of these shops, you'll never know what gem you'll come across. You can also check out available items online via their Instagram page.
They're open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Archives Vintage Store is located at 3619 Rivera Street., Baclaran, Parañaque City.
