(SPOT.ph) The summer sun is melting away and we’re slowly tucking our swimsuits and sunglasses back into our closets. But, that doesn’t mean the fun stops. An easy and enjoyable activity to try this rainy season is bowling. It’s not a very complex sport as the objective is easy to understand: Knock down the pins. You can do this using the proper form and technique or have a laugh and just experiment on your own. It’s also very versatile and welcoming to all kinds of players as alleys usually have numerous bowling balls that vary in size and weight.

Another great thing about bowling, well at least in Metro Manila, is that most of the alleys are found near or inside shopping malls. So they’re accessible and you can still do a lot of other activities or errands after winning some spares.

Timezone is best known as an arcade center jam-packed with different games such as claw machines, video games, air hockey, and now a bowling area. But, take note: Not all branches have bowling alleys. Usually, it’s the bigger branches like Ayala Malls Manila Bay or Market! Market! The latter's Timezone outpost has a six-lane bowling alley and billiards area. Do swing by their website to see a full list of branches.

Bowling games are like any other games in the arcade. To play, you have to purchase a card and top it up. Each game is about P170/head/game. There are no shoe rentals available, so it’s best to come in wearing comfy shoes.

SM added another activity people could do when they visit the mall. Aside from shopping all day, customers can now have some fun at the bowling alley. Here’s why we love the SM bowling alley: It’s accessible and there's always an ongoing promo.

Located inside the SM Malls, players won’t have trouble finding the place (and parking!). Plus, you can buy bowling tickets at the mall’s online ticketing website. Shoe rental is at P50.

If bowling is not the particular sport you want to try, some branches also have other activities such as billiards, archery, and a basketball arcade machine. The saying must be true, they do have it all for you.

Due to the onslaught pandemic, some of our favorite bowling alleys still have not opened. While some of us are still a little skeptical to go to a mall and play, joining a country club could be one of the best options to enjoy bowling in a more controlled and familiar space. There's Celebrity Sports Plaza, which has 16 Brunswick bowling lanes and a computerized scoring system. It comes with a slightly expensive price tag, but it’s definitely a good investment for the family. Celebrity Sports Plaza also has other facilities like a gym, swimming pool, tennis courts, and so much more for their members to enjoy.
