Burgos Circle, Bonifacio Global City
(SPOT.ph) Take your cue from the vibe at Rue Bourbon, the Burgos Circle drinking den inspired by a New Orleans party philosophy minus the Mardi Gras streakers and bead-wearing revelers, and try the new specialty cocktails on the bar list this October.
Rue Bourbon’s resident mixologist Kathryn Eckstein developed new drinks for the beer-weary: new cocktail concoctions include the dangerously sweet Peppermint Patty (P220), which you’re supposed to finish in one gulp; the Liquid Black Forest (P240), with a name that fits the cocktail’s medley of sweet cream and rhum flavors perfectly; and the Raunchy Rootbeer Float (P220), which hits you with a subtle kick after you’ve scooped out and licked your lips clean of the thick cream that tops the alchohol-infused rootbeer. For those who like sticking to favorites, Rue Bourbon still serves their best-selling flavored mojitos (P200 each) such as the Manileño, a refreshing ginger-infused cocktail.
What to pair with the booze? Chef Him Uy de Baron lent his culinary magic to Rue Bourbon’s new offerings, which all lean towards the fiery and hearty Creole and Cajun cooking New Orleans is known for. Munch on spicy slices of Cajun Meatball Pizza (P365), cozy up to a plate of Crazy Shrimp Carbonara (P290) with generous servings of cumin flavors and Creole seasoning, or nibble on the assortment of fresh seafood in a serving of 'The Bayou' with crablets, prawns, squid and onion rings (P390).
