Missed the "Art Grocery" at Art Fair Philippines 2015? Check it out (free of charge) at Tin-Aw Gallery
This art supermarket is a must-see
(SPOT.ph) Did you know that we have 10 rather amazing galleries in Manila, which you can utilize for dates and such? If Art Fair Philippines is any proof, there’s actually more...so if you loved seeing the works there, we have good news for you: There’s a way to enjoy that sans door fee throughout the year. Just go to a gallery and enjoy. You can even contemplate deep stuff, like what is art and where is art or how is art. Great exhibits actually prompt you to engage in these discussions.
Take for example, Manufacturer's Advice: Content May Vary (designed by Leo Abaya, who also created because we cannot share the same light). Patrons flocked to the "supermarket" booth at The Link and marveled at the brilliant concept. A commentary on selling art in a venue for selling art? Gutsy-the way art should be.
If you missed it, the "canned" art or art in cans or cans of art...er, the cans are still on the shelves at Tin-Aw. On February 21, Alwin Reamillo (one of the 100 artists participating) will be discussing the details of the concept...but we think, as good art often does, the exhibit speaks for itself.
Manufacturer's Advice: Content May Vary runs until March 7, at Tin-aw Art Gallery, located at the Upper Ground Floor, Somerset Building, Makati Avenue, Makati City
