Leave Your Hanky: This Tale of Bigamy is a Comedy
Repertory Philippines Invites You to Run for Your Wife on April 10
(SPOT.ph) When will we get enough of the tale of two lovers? Maybe when they stop being so damn funny! On April 10, say goodbye to mistress melodrama and hello to...uh, bigamy. In Run for Your Wife by Ray Cooney, Repertory Philippines explores all the hilarity of having two wives and two lives.
Jamie Wilson plays John Smith, a London cabbie who carefully divides his time between Streatham and Wimbledon, where his loves Barbara and Mary live respectively. Unfortunately for John, he runs into trouble and the police discover trails to his secret. Cast members Goldie Soon, Mikkie Bradshaw, Jeremy Domingo, Paul Holme, James Stacey, Steven Conde, and Mara Javier join the fun in fleshing out the farce under the direction of Miguel Faustmann.
A recent film adaptation of the play opened to negative reviews, which can be taken as proof that nothing beats the energy of live theater. Faustmann had us in stitches in the similarly themed Boeing Boeing, so we're looking forward to being out of breath.
Run for Your Wife runs from April 10 to May 3 at the Onstage Theater in Greenbelt 1, Makati City. For inquires and ticket information, contact Repertory Philippines at 843-3570 or TicketWorld at 891-9999.
