Art Adventure: Perspective and Fate in The Rattling of Shutters by Kirby Roxas

The exhibit runs from May 23 to June 12 at Tin-Aw Art Gallery

(SPOT.ph) Picking a Facebook photo has become quite the chore. Is the background okay? Should you tweak the colors a bit in Photoshop? Is it cute enough? Does it make you look pretentious? Can it somehow manage to capture who you are as a person?

Probably not. There's little we can do to control how "others" perceive us and in The Rattling of Shutters, artist Kirby Roxas illustrates our struggle to break the image projected on us by other people. Roxas plays with a flat image, enjoining the viewer to change angles in order to see everything the piece has to offer.

There's more to us than our faces and really, we're all so many things all at once.
