Gabriel Barredo's Opera: Ballet Philippines' fusion of art and motion will blow you away
Witness the surrealist and masterful installation come to life.
(SPOT.ph) We never really got over Gabriel Barredo's fascinatingly grotesque and masterful installation of Opera in January 2015. Thankfully, we will experience the awakening of the senses again, this time in performance. The notion behind Barredo's immersive work will be transfigured into contemporary ballet by Ballet Philippines. Witness the marriage of art and motion at the CCP Main Theater on February 13, 14, and 16. Art lovers, this performance is one you can't afford to miss.
Ballet Philippines' staging of Barredo's Opera is a collaboration with artists such as choreographer Redha Benteifour, composer Malek Lopez, and librettists Yvette Tan and Erwin Romulo. The performers include Victor Maguad and Erl Sorilla as Twins; Carissa Adea as Mother; Denise Parungao as Death; Jean Marc Cordero as The Watcher; and Earl John Arisola as The Creator.
