You can now sleep in a replica of Van Gogh's "The Bedroom" via Airbnb
...and have a starry night!
(SPOT.ph) Probably every artist and art lover’s idea of a perfect world is one where they can live in the reality of their favorite paintings. That idea used to be too farfetched—so was going to the Moon. Well, it’s 2016 and there are now virtual reality art shows around the globe, but Airbnb has taken that one step further: with a life-sized replica of Vincent Van Gogh’s painting “The Bedroom”!
It gets better—one night in “The Bedroom” runs for just U.S. $10 (you will just have to fly to Chicago). All the details in the painting are replicated, but there are differences, of course—like this room will have TV, Wi-Fi, and a washer and dryer. We're pretty sure you don't need to worry about having paint smears all over. However, the room is aligned somewhat haphazardly to really imitate the painting—which we totally wouldn't mind.

"The Bedroom" by Vincent Van Gogh
This is the room in the Airbnb listing.
"This room will make you feel like you're living in a painting. It's decorated in a Post-Impressionist style, reminiscent of southern France and times gone by. Its furniture, bright colours, and artwork will give you the experience of a lifetime," the Airbnb listing states. The artist also said he's charging the U.S. $10 to buy paint.
The guys behind this genius are from the Art Institute of Chicago. They are introducing this interactive experience alongside their latest exhibition, “Van Gogh’s Bedrooms,” which focuses on the three paintings Van Gogh made from 1888 to 1889. These three paintings, which are different versions of the same subject, reflect his former home known as the “Yellow House” in Arles, France. Check the listing or book the room.
