(SPOT.ph) Leon Gallery in Makati is tapping into the digital platform this month to further showcase the local art market with “Leon Exchange Online,” an online auction happening on Saturday, July 30 at 2 p.m. Art buyers from all over the world can register for the upcoming event through www.LeonExchange.com and preview the items for sale.

To be auctioned off are seldom seen pieces by National Artists Arturo Luz and Napoleon Abueva, modern pieces by Juvenal Sanso, Danilo Dalena, and Cesar Legaspi, and contemporary works by Wire Tuazon, Paolo Vinluan, and Manuel Ocampo, among others. There's a piece for everyone, as prices start at P1,000.

Leon Gallery director Jaime Ponce de Leon describes the upcoming auction as "a way for people to understand the local art scene better as they begin their foray to an impressive roster of art pieces."
Art enthusiasts who have never been to an art auction but always wanted to see what it was like would likely find that Leon Exchange Online is a good start, or at least a great way to explore and appreciate our vibrant selection of local art.
