(SPOT.ph) What would a neighborhood café with amazing photographs as wall decor look like? It's not that uncommon a concept, but it's not every day that you see a coffee spot filled with photos by notable photographers. Space Encounters, a furniture store-slash-art gallery in Pasig City, is putting up a pseudo-café that features a photography show titled Stillness is the Noise. It opens on February 19.

Eight Filipino photographers come together to showcase how they see the world behind their lenses. The lineup includes Miguel Nacianceno, Sonny Thakur, Toto Labrador, Cru Camara, Carmen Del Prado, Floyd Jhocson, Jilson Tiu, and Eloisa Lopez. Their specialties range from travel photography to photojournalism.

"It’s a photography exhibition about how stillness doesn't mean 'quiet.' There's always something happening or stirring," explains Space Encounters owner Wilmer Lopez. The set-up will also feature free-flowing coffee from The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.
Stillness is the Noise runs from February 19 to March 15 at 7/F Padilla Building, F. Ortigas Jr. Road, Ortigas Center, Pasig City. It is open from Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and every Saturday by appointment, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit Space Encounters' website.
