This local musical's teaser video is the perfect pre-December hugot
Mula sa Buwan opens on December 2.
(SPOT.ph) The theme of love is tirelessly explored in poetry, essays, movies, plays, and all other forms of art. This year, a Filipino musical titled Mula sa Buwan takes on the challenge of adapting the well-loved play Cyrano de Bergerac and his unrequited and unending love for Roxane. The production by Pat Valera and William Manzano opens on December 2 at the 1,000-seater Henry Lee Irwin Theater in Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City.
The Edmond Rostand original is now set in 1940s Manila where Cyrano is an ROTC cadet and Roxane is a blushing colegiala. The character of Christian, the lead's best friend who falls in love with the beautiful damsel, is still retained, but the whole tale is put side by side with the nation's struggle during World War II. Best of all, the lyrics carefully crafted by Valera and Manzano can easily be your favorite hugot pieces especially for the Samahan ng mga Malalamig ang Pasko.
Turn up the volume and watch these teasers. A box of tissue is a must.
