This writing retreat might be just what you need for inspiration
It runs for four days in Batangas.
(SPOT.ph) Writing the first page (or even the last page) of a manuscript isn't easy. There's always the proverbial blinking cursor mocking you to write the best words in the best order, unless you want to be frowned upon when your book hits the stores (not to mention the anxiety of wondering if it will get that far). You struggle against every possible distraction: heaps of laziness, a draining day job, lack of inspiration, the bottomless pit we call the Internet, and so on. (But really it's all just the laziness.)
Samantha Sotto and Mina Esguerra
Write Away, a writing and life coaching retreat, promises that you will have "the inspiration and motivation you need to continue writing your book" after four days at the charming Casa Luminaria in Lipa, Batangas. It is open to all women writers, from one who's still just toying with an idea to a novelist on the last chapters of a work-in-progress. Joining the 12 participants are two author mentors—Samantha Sotto (Before Ever After, Love and Gravity) and Mina V. Esguerra (Fairy Tale Fail, That Kind of Guy)—and one life coach—Aurora M. Suarez.
The retreat runs from October 19 to 22 with daily workshops, life coaching, and author mentoring. You also have the luxury of time for taking a dip in Casa Luminaria's pool, scheduling a massage, having long walks, and writing (of course). There's no WiFi and television to distract you, so consider this your much-needed lockdown.
Workshop fee is at P39,500, which has an installment plan from June to October. To register, visit Write Away's webpage.
