(SPOT.ph) To try Singaporean cuisine is to expose oneself to a diversity of cultures: Chinese, Malay, Indian, Nonya, Western. For the curious gourmand, Singaporean fare gives them a ready assortment of exciting flavors from all over the world.

From August 6 to 16, Dusit Thani is integrating these influences in their lunch and dinner buffet. Spearheading the now Singaporean-infused kitchen is Executive Sous Chef Liew Tian Heong from the world-renowned Chatterbox Restaurant of Meritus’ Mandarin Orchard. Expect to see Chatterbox’s famously refined Hainanese Chicken Rice, beautifully poached chicken paired with sweet soy, ginger, and chili sauces.

Perfect for this weather is the Bak kut teh, pork ribs simmered in mouthwatering, peppery broth, that will warmed anyone right up. There’s something about the mushrooms, herbs, and chilis that elevates this humble soup to a classier dish. While you’re over at the soup corner, sample the Singaporean Laksa as well. This spicy noodle soup is an explosion of herbs and heat, jampacked to the brim with tofu, eggs, and seafood.

The colorful coconut jellies and chewy crepe cakes are a great light ending to counter the strong flavors of your Singaporean feast.

Spices and Slices of Singapore is available from August 6 to 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (P1,450) and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. (P1,650).
