( There’s comfort in the familiar: that well-worn pair of slippers that you just can’t part with; the moth-eaten bathrobe that feels like a hug around your shoulders. But despite the soothing promises of habit, Naci Comfort Food still decided to pack up and leave their comfortable confines in Greenhills to relocate to the bustling restaurant district of Bonifacio Global City.



Instead of the warm lights and cozy dimmed setting that characterized the old Naci, co-owner Nadine Nocom and her new partners decided on an airier approach with natural light bathing the newly adopted modern interiors. "We still wanted it to look homey," she adds, gesturing at the colorful space behind her, like a living room but with booths instead of couches.

Regulars might have to adjust their eyesight to the bright new palette, but their tastebuds don’t need to acclimatize to the flavors which have been kept largely the same. That same familiar Naci comfort food-innovated, of course-that keeps their customers coming back.

Nocom’s namesake Nadine’s Adobo Cannelloni

Nocom’s namesake dish, Nadine’s Adobo Cannelloni (P360) was specifically crafted for her by the late great chef Ed Quimson. Putting a twist on her favorite classic, it remains a popular item on the menu. Flakes of sweet-savory adobo with buttery bechamel sauce are rolled into handmade pasta and then topped with chewy mozzarella; tangy adobo sauce makes it extra juicy. On the other hand, a sweet glaze gives lift to the heart-warming  porchetta. The Slow Roast Pork Belly (P320) isn’t that lean, but it’s laced with melt-in-your-mouth fat that’s sponged up most of the meaty juices. It’s served with java rice and buttered vegetables.


Slow-roast pork is always good.


Rice dishes are a new development. This Peruvian Chicken Rice (P420) is our favorite.


Dessert is always a happy affair in a place which features several display cases of mouthwatering pastry. The Chocolate Ganache Cake (P130/slice) looks like a dark tower, but a bite of this semi-sweet Belgian chocolate confection will bring you to a dreamy, sunshiny state, and you’ll find yourself with a sudden smile on your face.


Gooey! Chocolatey! Goodness!

Two weeks after they opened their new venue, Naci had to shut down for a couple of months due to repairs, but doesn’t that make it all the more comforting? To finally be able to relax and chill out after a long, tiring, stressful day?
