A waffle and a bibingka made sweet, sweet love.

 

(SPOT.ph) It sounds like something Rafiki would say when he blesses new-born, heir-apparent lions. Or maybe something in BeckineseWaffingka. It’s the latest food hybrid to stun Manila and this one is 100% local.

 

Waffingka comes from the union of waffles and bibingka. It’s essentially bibingka batter cooked on a griddle then topped with butter and fresh coconut. The taste comes from that familiar light, egg-y cake, but with a well-loved crunch.
