Open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
(SPOT.ph) There comes a time in every girls' night out when you ask yourself: "Where should we have dessert?" The bigger the group, the trickier the answer-but St. Marc Café might just be it. The Japanese café opened its first branch in Manila at the SM Mega Fashion Hall this week, and their displays boast sweets and pastries in a variety of configurations that could cause option paralysis in any dessert lover. There are flaky pastries with a range of different toppings, parfaits composed of two kinds of ice cream and a choice of red bean, matcha, coffee jelly, mangoes or bananas (among other things), banana splits, and a selection of different types of coffee as well as hot chocolate and tea.

Choco Banana Fuji
The easy choice, if you feel you need help deciding, would be their signature Chococro (P55), a croissant-like pastry that envelops chocolate made with cocoa beans from Ghana and Ecuador. For those who saved a little more room for dessert, there's the Fuji: the flaky pastry that serves as a base for soft-serve ice cream, banana slices, and chocolate syrup in the Choco Banana Fuji (P230) is a decadent substitute for the usual waffle, its rich buttery taste rising above the bananas and sweet vanilla from the ice cream.
Thanks to the sweets on display at St. Marc's, the choices may look overwhelming at first glance. But that's just a great excuse to grab a table and share a dessert...or three.
