CHECK IT OUT: Robinsons Selections at Burgos Circle, Bonifacio Global City
A new high-end supermarket at the heart of bustling Burgos Circle
Eight Forbes Town Road, Burgos Circle, Bonifacio Global City
Open daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
(SPOT.ph) Grocery stores are usually one of those go-here-only-if-you-must places, but it’s hard to say no to a store like Selections. The bright white glow from the entrance beckons passersby in, and the modern yet colorful interiors entice them to stay and spend. A lot. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
Grocery chain giant Robinsons Supermarket marks their 100th store in the form of the new Robinsons Selections, which just opened its doors on October 24. It’s an upscale take on the familiar, and Robinsons Supermarket General Manager Jody Gadia says they want to "extend its reach by tapping niche markets"-this market being a more discerning and health-conscious consumer.
Green labels as far as the eye can see
It’s a concept reflected in rows upon rows of products, embellished with a bright green tag in their "Health & Wellness" section. Green-tagged products have been evaluated and certified as healthy and nutritious by the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI). It’s a partnership that extends to all Robinsons Supermarkets, but this branch takes it further with their FitCuisine, ready-made meals that come in diabetic-friendly, low-fat, and fiber-rich variants-all approved by the FNRI.
All Food to Go dishes are prepared daily
FitCuisine is just one among many freshly prepared meals in Selection’s Food to Go section, set up right by the entrance for that added convenience for residents and employees around the area. As a testament to its surge in popularity, the section is packed during lunch and dinner hours. Get your carnivorous fill of mouthwatering dishes like grilled pork belly, chicken cordon bleu, and three different kinds of roasted chicken. For a healthier alternative, make a beeline for their miniature Mongolian barbeque and salad bars. A small al fresco deck is situated outdoors, perfect for Food to Go diners who wish to dine leisurely. Diners will also get the additional perk of free WiFi.
The store, though small, maximizes every square inch with sections that cater to virtually every need, from the usual grocery fare to a pharmacy, a "Health & Beauty" section, and a well-stocked deli provided by the folks behind Epicurious. Each area is neatly arranged, with aisles that still manage to have a wide-enough berth for shoppers, despite limited space. You won’t have any trouble finding what you need, thanks to large signs emblazoned on every aisle.
The neat and colorful produce display
This sectioned-off area is also known as the "Beauty Box"
Robinsons Selections goes beyond healthy eats and convenience. Shoppers can feast their eyes on imported displays, from glistening blocks of meat to brightly packaged snacks that are rarely seen in these parts of the metro. Customers are usually in a hurry to leave, but with a place like this, it’ll be hard to go so soon. You’ll want to peruse (and purchase) every item on their neat shelves.
