What to Expect at Dean & DeLuca in Manila
Plus, other establishments setting up in Rockwell’s Edades that we can’t wait to check out!
(SPOT.ph) With an opening officially set for December, it’s safe to finally be excited about Dean & DeLuca’s impending arrival in Manila at Rockwell’s Edades Tower and Garden Villas, to be exact.
The upscale grocery store chain, which first opened in New York’s SoHo in 1977, is being brought to the Philippines by Caroline Tanchay. The only female mining CEO in the country, Tanchay is involved in several industries-construction, oil, et cetera-but Dean & DeLuca is her first foray into the food world.
The initial branch in Edades measures 250 square meters, promising the comprehensive Dean & DeLuca experience. The brand has expanded to cafes, delis, bakeries, retail, and a combination of such, and the space is expected to offer the full range of services, selling meat, seafood, hors d’oeuvres and appetizers, breads, condiments, coffee and tea, and kitchen items. According to a source, future branches in Manila will be specific to one type of service.
Here are just some of the things we hope to see in Dean & DeLuca Manila:
Pepper Sampler (set of nine) for your every peppery need
For the stylista-cook
Gourmet Gift Baskets to shake up your hamper requirements
Understated yet stylish jute totes for our potential Dean & DeLuca shopping addiction
A good pecan pie
Chocolate ballotins for a friend or for ourselves
Bunny ears egg cups
Make-your-own Signature Bloody Mary
Finally, hot chocolate...
Other brands planning to set up shop in Edades are Bistro du Vin, brought in by The Moment Group and Singapore’s Les Amis Group; Hajime by ramen heavyweights Kichitora of Tokyo; and Maison by Nail Spa for luxury pampering.
