(SPOT.ph) If you've been hoping for an honest-to-goodness ice cream shop and soda fountain to open in Manila, consider your wish granted. Brought to you by the group behind the wildly popular Wildflour, Farmacy is ready to serve up a "real dose of deliciousness."

Stepping inside, you are greeted by the comforting scent of waffle cones, nostalgic pastels, and a charming, cozy vibe. Penny round tiles, wooden stools, glass beakers in an antique botika cabinet, retro-inspired ice cream dishes, and even a Norman Rockwell repro on the wall all help recreate the soda-fountain-at-the-pharmacy experience of co-owner Chef Walter Manzke's youth. We can't help but think it's the perfect setting for a rom-com meet-cute!

Farmacy's interiors were beautifully designed by Larawan Ink's Lara Fernandez Barrios, who aimed to authentically recreate a turn-of-the century to 1920s-style soda fountain.

What makes their frosty delights special? Farmacy's ice cream specialists explained their trade secrets in great technical detail, but in short, their ice cream is made, stored, and served at optimum temperatures so you get incredible texture and taste. (You know, not disappointingly lumpy, crumbly, or bitingly cold that you can't appreciate the flavor). In addition, all their ice cream is made fresh on site every day with the finest natural ingredients, is devoid of artificial preservatives and additives, and even contains less fat than its creamy contender Häagen-Dazs, so you can feel a little less guilty for your indulgence.

Everything is made fresh on site, everyday. The prep area is encased in glass, so you can see them whip up the ice cream right before your eyes.

Can't decide on a flavor? Sample what catches your fancy before ordering!

Overwhelmed by all the tempting choices? Sample a few flavors at the ice cream bar before placing your order. Early favorites are strawberry, salted caramel, hazelnut, double chocolate, and pistachio. There’s also lemon custard that may not be top of mind but still definitely intriguing. For a refreshing palate cleanser, go for the watermelon, coconut, or pleasantly tart calamansi. "In keeping with the soda fountain concept, we wanted to stick to traditional, well-loved flavors-nothing too [funky]," shares Farmacy co-owner Ana de Ocampo. Perhaps the most creative flavor on offer is Moonshine, featuring a delightful splash of bourbon.

You can order a single, double, or triple scoop in a cup or cone (P130 to P170), add toppings (peanut brittle, roasted almonds, Valhrona crunchy pearls, homemade cookies, et cetera), turn it into an ice cream float (P270), or even create your own ice cream sandwich (P225). If you're a fan of Wildflour's Bomboloni, try the Brioche Bomboloni with your choice of ice cream (P225), and top it with a swirl of hot fudge or caramel sauce for an additional P25.

Brioche Bomboloni with stracciatella ice cream-yum! Try it also with hazelnut or double chocolate.

For a more decadent treat, indulge in their sundaes (P270)-Classic Sundae, Banana Split, Rocky Road, Hot Fudge-good old classics done right.

We can already predict that Farmacy will be a favorite dessert destination, after-school treat, date place, not to mention, post-gimmick/nightcap spot, thanks to their "Farmacy After Dark"-sophisticated yet fun offerings for the adult palate (rum and coke float, anyone?). If ice cream is not your thing, there's a selection of beer, wine, flavored sodas, cold beverages (Green Tea Mojito! Watermelon Iced Tea!) and hot drinks on offer (organic teas, fancy lattes, pour-over coffee).

Farmacy's Very Thick Milkshake-your choice of ice cream, and add malted milk, fresh whipped cream, or a shot of espresso for extra decadence!

Nothing, however, can beat a classic: the Very Thick Strawberry Milkshake (P260), with strawberries so fresh you can taste the seeds on your tongue. Stick in an extra straw and share with your date for a delightfully sweet treat!
