Manila will be the stage for Madrid Fusión 2015
Madrid Fusión is one of the most important culinary events in the world.
(SPOT.ph) From April 24 to 26, Manila will play host to one, if not the most important culinary event in the world.
Madrid Fusión is an annual event that gathers together the world’s most creative chefs in one congress, demonstrating ingenious techniques and combinations and learning from each other. In an article for Food & Wine magazine, travel writer and author Anya von Bremzen described it as "a breathtaking summary of the past decade’s innovations and a glimpse of the future."
The conference and trade show had been held in the Spanish capital since its conception in 2003, but on its 13th year, it will be held in Asia-specifically at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. According to Madrid Fusión Manila’s official Facebook page, the "global event is envisioned to showcase an encounter between Spanish and Filipino chefs to celebrate over 300 years of shared history."
The trade show-exhibit will feature the likes of Spanish chefs Andoni Luis Aduriz (Mugaritz), Elena Arzak (Arzak), Quique Dacosta (Denia), Ramon Freixa (Ramon Freixa Madrid), Francis Paniego (Echaurren), Paco Roncero (La Terraza del Casino), Mario Sandoval (Coque), and Paco Torreblanca (Torreblanca Bombonerias y Pastelerias), as well as local culinary icons like Fernando Aracama (Aracama), Margarita Fores (CIBO, Grace Park, Lusso), J Gamboa (Milky Way, Azuthai, Tsukiji, Cirkulo), Jose Luis Gonzalez (Vask), Pepe Lopez (Rambla), Rob Pengson (The Goose Station, Olive Tree Kitchen and Bar), Bruce Ricketts (Mecha Uma), Myrna Dizon Segismundo (Restaurant 9501), Claude Tayag (Bale Dutung), and Juan Carlos de Terry (Terry’s Selection).
This year’s Madrid Fusión is a joint partnership among the Philippines' Department of Tourism, the Tourism Promotions Board, and Madrid Fusión organizers Foro de Debate and Arum Estrategias de Internacionalización.
