Love Bites: Heart-shaped Food in Manila for Valentine’s Day
Taste the love with these Valentine’s-themed dishes.
(SPOT.ph) "Heart" is the word this February, and this quirky shape (that looks nothing like the real thing) is invading everything, from apparel to watches to food-yes, food. There’s nothing sweeter than a heart-shaped dish, even those that aren’t supposed to be sweet at all.
In celebration of Love Month, we found some restaurants that are feeling the romance and sharing it through the loveliest heart-shaped treats.
Whisk Manila’s Heart Macarons
Offer up some bite-sized love this Valentine’s Day with filled, heart-shaped cookies available in orders of six (P350) or 12 (P650).
For orders, contact Whisk Manila at 0917-891-9999.
Brownbaker’s Strawberry Cheesecake
This is definitely not your everyday Valentine’s gift. Aren’t mango roses so much better than the real thing? Plus there’s the decadent heart-shaped cheesecake (P530/four to five inches) topped with gorgeous fresh strawberries. Totally yum.
For orders, contact Brownbaker at 0905-356-8640, 0916-469-6119.
Garage 88’s Garage Famous Burger
Not up for sweets? If you’re the kind of couple who enjoys a good burger with a cold one, then you’ll love this P588-deal from Garage 88. For that price, you get two of their bestselling burgers (that sesame-speckled brioche bun looks impeccable) in the shape of a heart, plus two bottles of either Blue Moon or Cherry Cola. The promo is available until the end of February.
Garage 88 has branches at Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City; Karport Compound, Bonifacio Global City; and 88 Aguirre Avenue, Parañaque City.
The Ostrich Farm’s Love Birds Treat
If you and your love crave a tad more exotic, The Ostrich Farm also offers heart-shaped burgers but with ostrich-meat patties instead of beef until February 28. P600 gets you a pair of these juicy sandwiches, as well as iced teas.
The Ostrich Farm is at Blue Bay Walk, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.
Happy Haus Heart Donuts
Make your tummy-and wallet-feel loved with these adorable snacks topped with chocolate heart. The regular ones are P20 each, while the minis are P6 each.

Heart-shaped Mini Kouign Amann from Cicou
It was loved at first sight (and bite) when we saw these flaky and buttery pastries by Chef Cyrille Soenen. His famed kouign amann just took a new shape topped with a shiny strawberry coulis and rich cream cheese. It comes in three for P290.
Available at Brasserie Cicou, Greenhills Shopping Center, San Juan City; and KA by Cicou at SM Mega Fashion Hall, Mandaluyong City.
Heart Blobs and Freckles from Chocolate Fire
Sometimes, you need a little salt to spice up the sweetness. Chocolate Fire’s famous Blob (P400), with its caramel milk, salted caramel top, and rich ganache has turned into a heart for the occasion. They’ve also come up with heart-shaped Freckles (P30/each), an Australian childhood classic in either milk or white Belgian chocolate and happily topped with colorful sprinkles.
Chocolate Fire is at PDCP Bank Center, Leviste Street corner Rufino, Makati City. For orders, contact 840-3473; email@example.com.
Krispy Kreme’s Heart-shaped Donuts
These donuts (P42) serve as an expression of your affection. Krispy Kreme tops their V-Day treats with more sweetness that comes in either strawberry or chocolate. Nope, these babies don’t come plain glazed.
Click here for a list of Krispy Kreme branches.
Cakes from Sonia’s Cakes and Bakes
Classic cakes get a do-over with heart shapes and more modern frosting designs. For Valentine’s Day, Sonia’s is peddling a Black Forest Cake, Chocolate Decadence (a nut-crusted ganache cake) in that adorable shape for P300 each. They also have double-layer Red Velvet Heartlets for P50 apiece.
Sonia’s Cakes and Bakes is at 161 Oscar Arellano Street, San Juan City (654-0913, 654-9877, 470-8921).
Heart-shaped Donuts at Scarsdale
Forget croughnuts. We’re totally digging another one of Scarsdale’s creations: their ultra-fluffy heart-shaped donuts. They come in three flavors: Red Velvet (P70), Oreo Cheesecake (P70), Tahitian Vanilla (P55). According to the server we spoke with, there’s no deadline yet (and we hope there never will be).
Scarsdale has branches at S&R, Shaw Boulevard, Pasig City; and SM San Lazaro, Manila.
Dunkin’ Donuts Hearts
This donut chain is going cutesy with that adorable plush teddy bear. Available until February 15, these donuts come in mini and premium: You can get three boxes of the former (three munchies in each box) for P165 or three boxes of the latter for P135. We wish they came with Derek Ramsay though.
Available only at participating branches
Chelsea Kitchen’s Love Burger
While some burgers go for the shape, Chelsea Kitchen is going all out with the romance with a pink beetroot-infused brioche bun and the cheesiest patty around. No seriously, the patty is stuffed with cheese. On the side? Ketchup-coated onion rings for that bright red hue. The Love Burger (P450) is available this week only.
Chelsea Kitchen is at SM Mega Fashion Hall, Mandaluyong City.
Go Nuts Donuts Love at First Bite
Looks like the Go Nuts’ was busy formulating as many items as they could. Not only do they have heart-shaped donuts (in flavors like Pink Kiss, Lotsa Love, and Sweet Heart), they also have cookies (also heart-shaped), chocolate sugar twists, and chocolate brittle. Get them all in one package, plus a bear, for P240.
Click here for a list of Go Nuts Donuts branches.
Cafe Macaron’s Heart-shaped Macarons
The wonderful pastry artists at Cafe Macaron have molded their famous macarons into the daintiest hearts. We’re in love. The cuteness is P60/piece.
Cafe Macaron is at Raffles Makati, 1 Raffles Drive corner Makati Avenue, Makati City.
You can tell that any rice meal from Stacy’s is full of love because why else would they bother with that heart shape that gives you a little more than a simple cup?
Stacy’s has branches at Capitol Hills, Matandang Balara, Quezon City; and Forbes Town Center, Bonifacio Global City.
Bulgogi Brothers’ Un-Yang Bulgogi
We admit that this isn’t the tastiest of Bulgogi Brothers’ many variations of bulgogi, but it’s absolutely picture-perfect, especially before it’s cooked. It sort of loses the shape when confronted with the grill. The best part is that you can have a taste of this P995 treat all year ’round.
Bulgogi Brothers has branches at Greenbelt 5, Makati City; Alabang Town Center, Muntinlupa City; SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City; Glorietta 2, Makati City; and Newport Mall, Pasay City.
