Ice cream shop to offer "Closure" on Valentine’s Day
Get a taste of "Unresolved Issues," "Matinong Girlfriend," and "Matinong Boyfriend."
(SPOT.ph) Ice cream maven Ian Carandang is helping you eat your feelings this Valentine’s Day with his four-flavor-strong Valentine’s line, available starting February 13.
Sebastian’s Ice Cream is apparently the place to be for those who aren’t quite fortunate in the love department. Those who can’t move on from a failed love affair would find solace in Closure, which, according to the Sebastian’s Facebook page, is "smooth and creamy Chrysanthemum ice cream with orange zest and vanilla." The innovator of kakanin-inspired ice cream took inspiration from floral teas that soothe and rejuvenate, comforting your tired heart in a way only ice cream can.
Those who want to wallow in their bitterness can enjoy a scoop of Unresolved Issues, which boldly uses ampalaya to flavor and garnish a refreshing sorbet. According to the page, the sorbet "has the definite bitter flavor that is reminiscent of the lingering pain that is only amplified on a day that is meant to celebrate lovers." The chunks of ampalaya are candied to demonstrate the sweetness that comes after a bitter heartbreak.
Sebastian’s has also revamped last year’s Matinong Girlfriend and Matinong Boyfriend. Instead of the formerly decadent chocolate rum ice cream that represented the ideal girlfriend, Ian has come out with a potato chip ice cream embellished with cheddar and sour cream potato chips coated in salted white chocolate-casual, enjoyable, and engaging, this one definitely reminds us of the perfect girl-next-door.
This year’s Matinong Boyfriend has transformed from bright and surprising raspberry to a smorgasboard of passionfruit sansrival ice cream, with a cashew buttercream base, passionfruit sorbet, wafers, and macadamia nuts. We’re pretty sure that all boyfriends should have just the perfect amount of sweetness, nuttiness (yes, a good sense of humor), depth, plus a whole lot of passion.
So, for lonely hearts out there, remember that on Valentine’s Day, comfort is only as far as your nearest Sebastian’s branch.
Sebastian’s has branches at Regis Center, Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City; The Podium, Mandaluyong City; SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
