This cake has leche flan on top!

(SPOT.ph) Following the grand tradition of merging two good things into one super great thing is Nikko's Baking Studio, which is killing us with a brand-new Leche Flan Cake (P1,160/round) a.k.a. a dense butter cake with a layer of leche flan on top.
This trick is by no means new. We've raved about Anghelica's delectable Ube-Leche Flan Cake as well as the Raintree Group's Impossible Cake, which comes with a moist chocolate base, but this one inspires a different kind of excitement.

Chef Nikko Buendia combines very minimalist profiles for stunning impact, with the caramel from the flan doing most of the sweetening. The edges of the cake, in fact, sponges up some of the sauce, making those bits even more moist. The light flavors complement the decadence of the other components and we love the balanced formula that the chef manages to create.
